Musical Instruments

I really loved playing the clarinet in musical groups when I was in junior high school and high school. It was very exciting to perform in concerts, football games, graduations and plays. Great friendships were formed. It has been proven that playing instruments help develop children's abilities. Playing woodwinds such as the saxophone or brass such as the trumpet also helps the breathing process!

There are many tips to help you enhance the beautiful sound of the instrument. One great tip for the clarinet is to prepare the reed by moistening it, holding the tip on the flat portion of the mouthpiece (perpendicularly) with one thumb and gently flipping the bottom of the reed back and forth with the other hand to straighten the playing edge. Don't forget to grease the cork. And as with all woodwind and brass instruments where you blow into a mouthpiece, clean the inside.

A child that enjoys playing a musical instrument can have a lifelong hobby that brings much joy.
