Thomas Trains as Educational Entertainment

When my son was 3 years old, he started playing with the Thomas train set. It was more than just fun. It was educational.

He learned new definitions such as ascending and descending tracks. He tried all kinds of layouts and designed cities with imagination. He loved to go on subway and bus rides, analyze the routes, and then go home to mimic those routes with his Thomas tracks. He learned to read maps, and more.

And he loved the Thomas videos that offered not only enjoyment, but excellent language, interesting stories. The characters seemed real since he played with them and developed his own stories with the tracks and trains.
And when he finished playing for the day, together we would organize all the pieces in their right place, by shape, size and type. This is the start of beneficial organizational training.
